The blog is BACK!

To say that I left you guys hanging for a while there is an understatement.

In case any of you are wondering where the blog posts have been that I promised, here's your answer. 1 word.....


I let life get in the way. I let my priorities get mixed up. I let myself slip. I let myself use excuses to put whats really important on the back burner and that's just not cool. 

Fast forward to May 2017...

The start of 2017 was a little chaotic for me but I've reigned in the crazy and found that I've got BIG goals for me personally and Toni J. Events, so that's what this blog is going to be about. But before I get into that I just want to remind everyone what the purpose of this blog is for.

I want to be able to give you guys an inside look into my life! That includes everything from my daily thoughts, what books I'm reading, Event Planning Do's & Dont's, the people that are currently mentoring/influencing me, to SOOOO much more. So I hope you guys enjoy :) Now back to the important stuff...


In my opinion (yes I'm giving my opinion please don't get offended) goals are really what help us excel in life. Whether it's your personal goals, financial goals, spiritual goals, fitness goals, any type of goals you may have. Those are what drive a person to go forward. Here's how I look at it.....


When you have GOALS you GROW in whatever area that GOAL is set for because you either achieve that GOAL and then typically make another or you learn a huge life lesson that turns into GROWTH. With that GROWTH you are ultimately SUCCEEDING in whatever area in your life you set a GOAL for and GREW from. 

The process doesn't just stop there....

Once you get in the rhythm of constantly setting goals for yourself it becomes a life cycle, a habit in your everyday routine. You have something to look forward to everyday. You have things that you naturally want to achieve so you can make those goals become a reality. 

Yeah I gave you a nice, clean, simple formula but it is anything but that. Setting goals for yourself and working to achieve them is tough. Here are 5 things I've learned, and am still learning, when it comes to setting and achieving the goals for Toni J. Events and my personal life.....

1. Time

It takes TIME. Time you don't even think you may have or free time you wanted to spend doing something else. Then you become so passionate about accomplishing it and you don't even realize how much time you've spent achieving the goal. You have to make time to achieve the goals you have set in place. Toni J. Events didn't just appear to me out of nowhere. I spent hours, weeks, days and months of my time thinking and creating the dream and goals I have set for this part of my life.

2. Patience

You know that saying, "Nothing worth having comes easy"? Well, that definitely applies here. Don't expect to have your goals handed to you. You have to work for them and sometimes that will result in spending some of that time we just talked about waiting and being PATIENT for the result. 

3. Dedication

All of the results you get from trying to achieve your goals will be a direct reflection of how much work you put into it. If you want the goal, then DEDICATE everything you have to achieving it. You're going to have to work harder than you ever have.  

4. Endurance

Now that you've designated your time, patience, and dedication to achieving the goals you have set you have to make sure you consistently push through until they are met. There will be times when it gets really hard and you question yourself but you have to endure those hard times and keep pushing. I can't tell you how many times I asked myself, "What the heck are you doing?!?" or I let that pesky little voice in my head almost convince me, "This is too much work for you to handle, just quit now and you can settle for something easier..." Whatever you do DON"T let those thoughts in your head. Create in yourself an endurance that can push your through any goal you set!

5. Reward

After you've sacrificed your valuable TIME, been PATIENT with the process, DEDICATED your blood sweat and tears, ENDURED and pushed through obstacles and setbacks it's still not over.

(Don't worry this is the good part!) 

Some people may say this part isn't nearly as important as the other 4 things I've shared with you but I believe it's one of the most important ones. After everything REWARD yourself. Commend yourself for everything you did to make your goals happen! Remind yourself how worth it all the hard work you put in is. Because at the end of the day no one else is going to know how much time you spent dedicating your like to this goal. How patient you were to see your end results and how you endured through many different things to make this happen.

3 Reasons why you need me!

The importance of an Event Planner....

Whenever people ask me what I really do as an Event Planner, the first thing I tell them is, "I make peoples lives a whole lot easier!" My goal is to take my clients DREAM event, help them BELIEVE that it's possible to have it, and then CREATE it right there before their eyes. Now there are a million and 1 reasons why you should hire an Event Planner when all the many special life occasions take place, but these 3 are where my services will benefit you the most! 


1. You will save BUKU'S of Time

Now when I say you will save BUKU's of time, I mean you will seriously have way more time on your hands! There are so many small details that have to be taken care of and worked out when planning any type of event and who really wants to be bogged down by small details??? Don't worry, because that won't be you. This is where I come in and take care of the meetings with the caterer, photographer, venue manager, baker, crazy Mother-in-Law.....Ok maybe not that last one but I'm sure it'll happen to me once or twice in my lifetime HaHaHa! I will be the one to stay up into all hours of the night making sure everything for your event turns out 100% the way you want it to!! You'll be able to relax, spend time with your family, and get your work done...All while your event is being planned and prepped for that special day!

2. You will save BOATLOAD'S of Money

When people approach me to plan an event for them they tend to seem a little apprehensive when it comes to the cost of my services. (This is understandable seeing as Event Planner's nowadays are making significantly more money than in the past years.) One thing every prospective Event Planning client should know is by hiring me you're actually SAVING money...the client then says, "How can that be so?!? I am hiring and paying you, therefore spending more money on top of what I'm spending for the actual event???" That's when I explain to them that when hiring me and entrusting me with the budget for said event I will then do everything in my power to save them money in other areas! As your planner I will try to get you any discount I can, I will know which Vendors will work out special prices for you, and how to maybe even swing an early booking discount ;)

3. You will be STRESS FREE!

When I say "Stress Free" that almost sounds too good to be true right?? Well it isn't, trust me! Planning any type of event, big or small, by yourself can be much more stressful than you think. Especially when you have a full time job, family and kids, life, ect....People's perception of an Event Planner has changed over the years and ultimately we are here for you to put all of the "Dirty Work" and STRESS on us! And when I say dirty work, I mean dirty work LOL! No matter what the event when you hire an Event Planner this gives you a chance to step back and let someone else take control. This gives you as the client a chance to go on with your life while seeing this amazing creation come to life right in front of you! 


All 3 of these reasons should be enough motivation to hire an Event Planner for your next event! I mean come one, who doesn't want to save time and money, and be less stressed?!? I know I want all of those things! (And maybe a few others, Lol) I hope this blog gave you guys a little insight as to why Event Planners are so important and maybe swayed you to hire Toni J. Events for your next special occasion!

My 1st Blog (Eeep)!

My many firsts....

In case you didn't get a chance to read the insanely long and detailed bio about myself in my About page then I'll give you guys a small synopsis of me :)

My full name is Toni Robyn Johnson and I am 22 (almost 23) years old. I have 3 sisters, 2 older and 1 younger, 5 nephews, 1 niece, and a multitude of animals that are constantly roaming through our house. I was born and raised in Fayetteville, Ga (Just pretend I'm reading this with a southern accent LOL) and have lived in the same house my entire life....Exciting right?!? Fast forward through my middle school tomboy days, awkward high school phase of being a loner cheerleader with only 3 friends, and 5 different colleges and we've finally made it to present day Toni! 

Now I know some of you are thinking 22 is a little young to be starting my own business in such an established industry but trust me I'm no 22 year old at heart. I spend the majority of my time with myself and my cat lily reading lots of books.....Now if that doesn't sound like the typical cat lady stereotype then I don't know what else does?!? I also enjoy online shopping, watching Game Of Thrones, working out, and spending time with my family. 

Anyways, this blog is supposed to be about all the many firsts I've had since starting this awesome, crazy, wild, expensive, draining yet insanely amazing and thrilling business!

Since first dreaming up the idea of Toni J. Events back in January 2016 I've had to overcome so many obstacles just to get to the start of my business.

1. I had to actually get Certified (Prelude to this happening I changed my major 7 times & attended 5 different colleges...Thank goodness I actually made it all the way through this one!)

2. I had to create a serious business plan that did not involve me bailing out half way through this whole process because it's "too hard", boohoo. 

3. EXECUTE....Not people though because this isn't Game of Thrones (which I LOVE), I mean the serious business plan that I created so that I don't bail out too early in the game. LOL! 

Fast forward again to July 2016 when Toni J. Events had it's first major events and the business began growing even more from there! Now 2016 may be coming to a quickly approaching close, but this girl and her business are just getting fired up and there will be many more firsts to look forward to :)
